Steel planter and pots in a small garden

An entertaining space for family & friends

The motivation behind the creation of this Victorian terrace garden was to develop the ultimate space for socialising with friends and family and maximise on outdoor living. The interiors of the house had been fabulously refurbished by the client and so the garden was a natural progression.

The slate paving pads lead you through the garden with the surrounding gravel softening the crisp lines. The colour of paving materials was carefully considered to reflect the light in the predominantly north facing garden. Planting into the gravel added texture and maturity to the garden.

Fabric planters line two of the walls providing a flexible solution for growing edibles. Furthermore climbing plants are introduced to add instant impact and maturity to the garden.

With many victorian terrace gardens, the existing boundaries required a revamp. We re-rendered where needed and installed hit & miss style fencing fit snuggly to the tops of the walls. Retaining and painting the concrete coping as well as walls.

Finally, two large corten steel planters give height to planted areas. A beautiful Himalayan birch creates a beautiful focal point to be enjoyed from the interior and this is lit with string lights in the evening therefore extendng oudoor living.
